Summary
Cork does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. The app has no advertising, analytics, tracking, user accounts, or cloud service. Your boards and settings are stored locally on your Mac.
Information stored by Cork
Cork stores the content and layout you create, including board names, notes, checklist items, card positions, card appearance, connections, and app preferences. This information is kept in Cork's application support container on your Mac.
When you add an image or file, Cork may store a macOS security-scoped bookmark. This lets Cork reopen the item you selected while preserving the protections of the App Sandbox. Cork does not upload the file or bookmark to a server.
Network activity
Cork does not operate a backend service and does not send board content to us. When you choose to open a URL card, macOS hands that URL to your default browser. Your browser and the destination website then apply their own privacy practices.
System features
If you enable Launch at Login, Cork uses Apple's Service Management framework to register the app with macOS. That preference is controlled through Cork and System Settings. The global keyboard shortcut is handled locally on your Mac.
This website
This website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, cookies, or contact forms. Like most hosting services, the website's hosting provider may process basic connection logs, such as an IP address, browser information, and request time, for security and reliable delivery. Those logs are governed by the hosting provider's policies.
Support email
If you email Cork support, your message and address are processed by the email providers involved and used only to answer your request. Please avoid sending private board content unless it is necessary for troubleshooting. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and maintain support records.
Children's privacy
Cork does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. The app's local-only design and lack of user accounts apply to all users.
Changes to this policy
If Cork's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the affected version is released. The effective date above identifies the current policy.
